The original Pro Gold Infield Mix of the West Coast. Don't be fooled by a knock off infield mix. Gail's Pro Gold Infield Mix is used by more professional and college facilities than any other available material in Southern California. Gail's Pro Gold is also the number one supplier for the local high schools and city ball fields. Our material is finely screened at a 1.8 mil minus. Silt plus clay content falls within ASTM standards however if desired, we can custom blend additional clay for those field managers that want a stiffer infield mix. The color is deep reddish brown and offers great ball contrast. Our standard mix is stabilized with our exclusive natural organic binder Natricil™. Stabilization offers benefit is moisture control by absorbing excess moisture during periods of heavy rain and reducing rainouts or by contrast, Natricil™ holds onto water on hot and dry days and reduces dust and bad hops.

- Gradation - A minimum of 98% of particles shall pass the 2.0 mm sieve with the highest proportion of sand particles in the medium to very fine range. Silt and clay distribution shall be relatively equal with allowable differences no greater than 10%. The finale soil classification based on USDA criteria shall be a sandy loam - sandy clay loam. This is a single source material and the blending of different parent materials is not acceptable.
- The color of the material shall be gold to reddish gold.
- Natracil™ organic binder as distributed by Gail Materials shall have a minimum swell volume of 35ml/gm and shall be blended with a pug mill that includes a weigh belt feeder that insures the proper ratio and the uniform blending of the binder. Bucket or belt blending are not acceptable methods.
- For installation of new fields place Pro Gold Infield Mix to a finale minimum depth of 3 inches over a sub-base that is prepared to acceptable specifications. The finale grade should be leveled and sloped according to standard infield construction specifications. Allow for +/- 1 inch for compaction.
- After leveling the infield skin thoroughly water the entire infield until the complete depth of infield mix is moistened. After a period of +/- 4 hours compact with minimum 2000 lb static drum roller. If low areas are present then scarify and level the area with additional mix.
